New Haven County Lawyer Referral and Clinics
The New Haven County Bar Association offers a lawyer referral service by telephone, e-mail, or online request form for a nominal fee, which includes an initial consultation with a lawyer. The Association also offers Ask-A-Lawyer clinics at various locations, which include a brief consultation at no cost.
Connecticut Victim Services
The Connecticut Office of Victim Services provides crime victims with information about victims' rights and the criminal justice process, court accompaniment, case status notification, advocacy, referrals, and assistance with victims' compensation, restitution, victim impact statements, and return of property. Connecticut Public Defenders
The Division of Public Defender Services provides free or low-cost criminal defense services to indigent defendants facing possible incarceration, to indigent parents and juveniles in some family matters, and to indigent parties facing involuntary mental health commitments.
