The Greater Bridgeport Bar Association offers a lawyer referral service by telephone or email for a nominal fee, which includes an initial consultation with a lawyer.
Connecticut Victim Services
The Connecticut Office of Victim Services provides crime victims with information about victims' rights and the criminal justice process, court accompaniment, case status notification, advocacy, referrals, and assistance with victims' compensation, restitution, victim impact statements, and return of property. Connecticut Public Defenders
The Division of Public Defender Services provides free or low-cost criminal defense services to indigent defendants facing possible incarceration, to indigent parents and juveniles in some family matters, and to indigent parties facing involuntary mental health commitments. Income eligibility guidelines, and information about juvenile and child protection matters are included. Local office contact information is provided by judicial district, geographical area, juvenile venue, and specialty unit.
Connecticut Legal Fee Dispute Resolution
The Connecticut Bar Association's Resolution of Legal Fee Disputes Program uses mediation and arbitration to help parties resolve disputes over their lawyers' fees without going to court. A link to the petition form is included.
